My piece is inspired by Norman Rockwell who is an illustrator who illustrates themes of war, humor, and just many civil pieces. He would make many pieces for The Saturday Evening Post, and would make illustrations that had many different meanings. The ones I chose for my inspirations have about the same theme of love and how people think of themselves. They are both made with the same properties like the lines in the back and the areas around the heads of the characters he drew. I wanted to bring a lot of his properties into my piece like the lines and that space around the heads of the people. Rockwell uses oil to help himself blend the colors together in his illustrations I chose to use very different mediums: Art markers and color pencil, of which are kind of hard to blend together as seamlessly as oil but they are also able to blend when worked with correctly. This piece will demonstrate my theme of identity, how change happens while you grow up and your thoughts and life changes as well sometimes for good and sometimes for bad in this case good change.
